Helping with a Hoarding Issue…

Has it been a week since I last posted?  Indeed it has!  Last week was extremely busy.  I haven’t said this since I worked in corporate but come Friday it was “TGIF”. 😉

I spent the weekend decking the halls — not exactly a weekend off but it is coming together.

When I tell people what I do for a living, the first response is “Oh I need you to come to my house!”  The second response is, “Do you watch the show Hoarders?”

I have watched the show and last week I was living it.  A family contacted me about helping the mother with her home.  It was full of stuff and they needed to make it safe for her to move back in.

We started working room by room last Tuesday with a second round starting back tomorrow.  The impact being made on the family’s lives is tremendous.  The mother is still on the fence, but the goal is to make her home livable and safe.  Changing the behavior will be a much longer process.

This has been one of the most memorable and exciting projects I have done to date.  🙂

Here are a few Before and After shots:

  1. Wow Jennifer!! Lots of hard, hard work for you and everyone in that family! You have the best personality to work with someone who has a hoarding tendencies. Good luck with Week 2!
