“…Gonna see my picture on the cover. Gonna buy 5 copies for my motha…”
When I found out that I was going to be on the cover of a magazine, I immediately thought of that song (Cover of the Rolling Stones).
It might not be a national magazine, but it is pretty darn cool to me.
I had lived at the same apartment complex for 6 1/2 years, Bexley Greenway. It was my first big girl apartment and I thoroughly enjoyed making it home. Part of making it feel like home was getting to know my neighbors and management staff.
The property manager, Sarah Ziegler, invited me to a political event they were hosting a few months back. While there I made some friends with the guests, several of which worked for the GCAA (Greater Charlotte Apartment Association). When they found out I had lived there for as long as I had, the GCAA asked if I would be interested in answering some questions for an article in their Apartment Times magazine. Picture taken. Questions answered. Then I get the email — they want to put me on the cover … if I didn’t mind. Oh I didn’t mind in the least! 🙂
As most of you know, I moved recently which was interesting timing for the article. I switched properties that are both owned by Weinstein Properties. From Bexley Greenway to Bexley Creekside.
Bexley Creekside even gave me a shout out in the community newsletter! So.Much.Fun! 🙂
